DestroyTwitter? Why Would You Do Such a Thing?

DestroyTwitter Running In Ubuntu

No, no one is actually destroying Twitter. But DestroyTwitter may be destroying the Twitter client competition. Destroy Twitter is an Adobe Air application that can run on Windows, Mac, and Linux. In my opinion it is the little brother of TweetDeck, another Twitter client designed for easy organization and “power tweeting”. DestroyTwitter sports many of the same features that TweetDeck has, while leaving a smaller desktop footprint. DestroyTwitter has the ability to show the tweets of all of the users that you are following, store reply tweets directed towards your account, archive saved tweets, view and sent/received direct messages. Also, this client gives users the ability to search for keywords using TwitterSearch. This is one of my favorite features, and I use it to see how “hot” certain topics are on Twitter. Just as in TweetDeck, profiles can be viewed directly inside of the client. The ability to edit your own profile is avaible as well. There are a slew of preferences that can be accessed at the touch of a button, which can totally alter the way you tweet. As with most other clients, DestroyTwitter can shorten URLs using the TinyUrl service, post pictures through TwitPic, and shrink tweets down to 140 characters easily with the TweetShrink service. Overall, the UI of this client is very intuitive and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. If you’re looking for a feature packed Twitter desktop client that is lightweight, DestroyTwitter is the way to go.
