Last night, I bought iWork ‘09 from Best Buy, 79.99 USD + tax. Here are some impressions I had when I opened up the programs. These views are coming from a person who hasn’t had any form of work processing on a Mac since AppleWorks.
Pages ‘09
When you first open up Pages you are greeted with a whole lot of formats you can use. These categories range from letters, forms, black page, brochures, certificates and a whole lot more. Then when you do decide what you want to do word processing is so simple, but with inspector you can modify a lot of options you want.
Keynote ‘09:
Having used PowerPoint my whole life I was amazed when I opened up Keynote. You can chose which theme you want. Next, chose what you want to do in each slide. The new Magic MoveĀ transitionsĀ are truly amazing. Also, you can make objects move throughout the slide very easily. Overall I think this is a great presentation software.
Numbers ‘09:
To be honest I don’t think I will be using this that much, but I did open it up to see what it is like and all the themes look useful and simple to use. This will work like any other spreadsheet program, but with a little extra magic thrown in by Apple.
