As many of you may have heard, I’m a really big fan of the windows 7 beta, It’s amazing, it’s the speed of XP, with even more features than Vista, without the badness factor of Vista. It’s so good in fact that I wiped my partition of XP on my Custom PC and my MacBook, replacing it with 7. It has become the main OS on my custom PC.
Build 7000 will stop functioning after August 1st, and a couple days ago Microsoft confirmed my fears that there will be no more windows 7 Betas. Meaning come August time I’m going to need to get back to XP.
For two reasons:
- I’ll never afford Microsoft’s three figure price tag.
- I refuse to support the idea that an OS should have 90000 variants. I just don’t think its right. Before we all go commenting here, I do know that currently the different versions, (home basic, home premium, business, ultimate) are just a rumor for now, I think we’re all pretty sure that its going to be a reality.
Enjoy 7 while you can !
